THE STORY OF A PASSION

My name is Mauro Corato and I have been teaching Lao Long Dao Kung Fu since 2004 under the guidance of Sifu Marco Guarneri.

I started my journey in martial arts very late!

My first experiences were in karate and judo, where I did not find inspiration or involvement.
For about five years I tried different martial arts and combat sports, instinctively looking for a master who would show me the way.
During this period of personal search, I was drafted into the army. I arrived at the barracks and after about 20 days of training I was selected for the instructor course for the preparation of assault riflemen. In addition to the military program, the course also tought mixed martial arts and wrestling techniques. This beautiful experience led me to continue practicing combat sports: boxing, kickboxing, etc.
Withouth finding a true enlightenment yet, I was still searching for it.
In 1997 I met Vietnamese-origin Kung Fu "Lao Long Dao".
From that year with great enthusiasm I started the new path that would later become My Way.
On the occasion of my first exam, I had the pleasure and honor of meeting the founder of the Lao Long Dao Kung Fu style, Sifu Marco Guarneri. I started attending with commitment all the stages and seminars that were proposed to me by Sifu Guarneri.

Thanks to his guidance and the Lao Long Dao program, I began a gradual growth, climbing the belt levels.
In 2002 I attended the Coni-recognized coach course, becoming an assistant coach; in 2004 with Sifu Marco Guarneri we were offered to hold a course in street defense and combat opened to the Local Police of the municipalities of Lainate and Pogliano Milanese.

I am very glad to have found my path in Lao Long Dao Kung Fu. It was taught so much about myself, about the world around me, and about the importance of discipline, hard work, and perseverance. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my passion with others and to help them on their own journey of self-discovery.

September 2006 I opened the Kung Fu course entirely managed by me in Lainate (MI)
November 2006 Certified as International Referee at World Championships of Kick Boxing & All Styles
April 2007 Certified as WTKA's Best Referee of the Year for Weapons Fighting
August 2007 in Octocez (SLO) black belt 1st Dang exams
September 2007 I opened the Kung Fu course entirely managed by me in Bovisio Masciago (MB)
August 2010 in Octocez (SLO) black belt 2nd Dang exams
August 2012 in Brescia red belt exams of Thieu Lam
August 2014 in Mokrice (SLO) black belt 3rd Dang exams
May 2023 international recognition of the 3rd Dang
June 2023 in Brescia (ITA) black belt 4th Dang exams
